Powder Coating is an alternative to liquid paint, utilizing finely ground particles which are electrostatically charged and sprayed onto parts. The parts are heated, melting the powder and forming a coating which is both physically and chemically bonded to the surface. The process is fast and takes from 30 seconds to an hour to complete. These coatings are typically more durable than conventional liquid coatings and are often less expensive than comparable multi-coat liquid systems.

Powder coating is also environmentally friendly since volatile organic compounds are not used to cure the coating system. These characteristics are why powder coatings have been the fastest growing segment of the finishing industry for the last ten years.
